One Nine Nine PR Wins and Highlights in 2026: From Space to Soy

What do space launches, ice cream and EU legislation all have in common? They’ve all been front and centre in One Nine Nine’s PR and editorial strategies this year. Head of Content Andy Buchan explains…

As a former journalist and magazine editor who now works in PR, I’ve seen the media landscape change from both sides of the desk. And one of the main changes is that media has become increasingly niche.

Part of that shift means the days of guaranteed, blanket mainstream coverage are undoubtedly behind us. After all, armed with a smartphone and a smart(ish) opinion, anyone can be a source of news and information in 2026. Instead, magazines and newspapers have become highly targeted, drilling down to deliver specialised, focused editorial viewpoints to better serve their core audiences.

For those of us in the PR world, this shift means a couple of things. First, you need to be perfectly in step with the right outlets and publications, ensuring you’re pitching highly relevant content to the right readers.

Secondly - and this is a universal truth that holds up no matter how much the media landscape evolves - you need the ability to distil complex, nuanced messages into easily digestible and engaging content.

And thirdly, we specialise in sustainability, and one of the huge positives of the range of work we’ve undertaken this year is just how relevant sustainability is across such a wide spectrum of companies, products and services.

Which brings us to One Nine Nine’s year so far. Over the last few months, we’ve written about everything from the perfect dairy-free summer ice cream and the golden age of space observation to the high-profile UK Soy Manifesto campaign and well-meaning but potentially flawed EU legislation. It’s been quite the ride, and we’ve only just hit spring!

Here are a few of our PR and content highlights from 2026 so far:

Global UK Soy Manifesto Coverage

We were delighted to handle the press release and media outreach for the UK Soy Manifesto once again. We’ve already secured six major placements in key industry titles, including The Grocer and Edie, to go alongside our previous hits across the BBC, Reuters and Ethical Consumer

MosaiX Thought Leadership

When it comes to complex industries, thought leadership is one of the most effective tools we have in PR. Take our client MosaiX for example, a high-tech sustainable supply chain specialist: we’ve secured a series of high-profile thought-leadership articles that position them as authoritative voices in their field. By securing placements in leading publications such as Food Navigator, SpaceNews and Spatial Source, we've ensured their expertise reaches the right audience.

To Infinity, And Beyond!

Sticking with the aerospace sector, we worked with long-term client AMS to produce three highly targeted thought-leadership articles for their AMSCC Aerospace company. Strong content doesn't just build authority; it builds visibility. Thanks to a strategic approach to topics and SEO, all three of these articles are currently ranking on the first page of Google for their target search terms, driving organic traffic. Also, and allow us a little Mad Men glee here, but we now have a space client, surely the modern equivalent of bagging a car company. We just need a cool and sustainable fashion brand now to get that stylish 60s advertising look (we’ll leave the drinks trolley for now, though!).

Seasonal wins and the News Cycle

Timing is crucial in PR. For edible oil giants KTC, that meant looking ahead to the changing seasons, securing targeted ice cream coverage just in time for the summer rush. Beyond seasonal lifestyle pieces, we kept KTC in the fast-paced global news cycle by drafting expert commentary on Middle Eastern supply chain disruptions, securing coverage in several high-profile retail outlets Retail Sector and Ingredients Network.
