TikTok users in Indonesia have been gaining access to a new ‘Shop’ tab in the app. The feature allows users to add items to a shopping cart, which is positioned in the top right of the app, as they scroll.
This new feature would offer more to creators via the app in terms of monetisation - potentially placing TikTok up there with the likes of YouTube and Instagram.
Users now don’t need a separate IGTV app to watch longer videos. The experience is embedded in the main app, accessed via in-feed teasers, a tab of the Explore page, promo stickers in Stories, and profile tabs.
