Summer is finally here! Whilst enjoying the sun, make sure to factor these important key dates into your marketing calendar!

Here are some key dates to add to your business calendar this June:

1st - 30th June - LGBTQ+ Pride Month #Pride2023

An annual observance to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community around the world and raise awareness to issues their communities face.

Ways to observe:

  • Decorating your office with LGBT flags.
  • Have your team wear Stonewall rainbow laces in solidarity.
  • Design an LGBT themed post and ask members of the community in your office if they’d like to offer any messages in commemoration. 
  • Create an office playlist celebrating LGBTQ+ artists.
  • Donate to local LGBTQ+ charities in solidarity.

1st - 18th June - NBA Finals #NBAFinals

The annual championship, ‘best out of seven’ series in the NBA between the Eastern and Western conference champions to determine the league champions.

Ways to observe:

  • A fancy dress party where the office can wear their favourite team's jerseys. 
  • Host a mini office basketball game tournament with teams.

8th June - Best Friend Day #BestFriendDay

An annual celebration in tribute to close friends and celebrating your friendships. 

Ways to observe:

  • Post a carousel of your team and their individual “work besties” detailing their favourite things about each other.
  • Encourage members to bring their favourite treats and watch a movie together.
  • Office team lunch to celebrate the work friendships.

17th - 25th June - Special Olympics World Summer Games

An international multi-sport event for people with intellectual disabilities held every four years. Rather than focusing on elite level athletes, athletes of all kinds are matched up based on their age and ability.

Ways to observe :

  • An athletic themed workwear day.
  • Office olympics - work-related games to see who wins.

18th June - Fathers’ Day  #FathersDay #FathersDay2023

A globally celebrated holiday in celebration of fathers and father figures.

Ways to observe :

  • Offering a family-friendly picnic.
  • Host a ‘bring your kids to work’ day.
  • Treating workers’ fathers to a company excursion.
  • Dad joke contest.

21st June - World Music Day #WorldMusicDay

Held annually as a celebration for all forms of music and its positive influence on the world and to encourage both professionals and amateur musicians to showcase their work.

Ways to observe :

  • Create your work office playlist with everyone’s favourite songs.
  • Host a karaoke night with your team.
  • Fancy dress as favourite musicians.
  • Personal posts of the office’s favourite albums.

28th June - Eid al-Adha #EidUlAdha #Eid

The second celebration of the Eid Festival, celebrating the sacrifice of Prophet Abraham and his son Ismail. It usually occurs when many Muslims perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

Ways to observe :

  • Donate to charities supporting third world countries or refugee camps.
  • Hosting an Eid lunch, with traditional meals.
  • Ask members of the Muslim community to explain the significance of the holiday and how they celebrate.
  • Offer workers a private space for prayer during the work day.

30th June - World Social Media Day #SMDay

An annual observance held in recognition of social media’s impact of global communication. 

Ways to observe :

  • Remind people how your business got its start on social media
  • Share your favourite accounts to follow
  • Share stats and data about your brand’s social media performance
