Meta Announces Generative AI Music Project âAudioCraftâ
Meta has announced a new music project, âAudioCraftâ, enabling users to âgenerate high-quality, realistic audio and music from text.â The new project incorporates Metaâs MusicGen system, trained on Meta-owned music samples. AudioGen, however, uses public sound effects.Â
Meta hopes the tool will be used by sound designers/musicians to broaden their inspirations and support ideation. However, there are many concerns about the tool enabling misuse of artistsâ works and the legalities associated with ownership and copyright.
